Why The Name Go Humphrey?

Why did I choose the name Go Humphrey Marketing Solutions? The name Humphrey means “peaceful warrior” according to behindthename.com. It’s also the name of one of the most famous humpback whales in history.

There once was a whale named Humphrey that twice deviated from a Mexico to Alaska migration by entering San Francisco Bay. This behavior is unusual for a humpback whale and Humphrey attracted wide media attention. I’ve always been drawn to whales for their strength, intelligence and ability to make a tremendous splash. I liked Humphrey’s story of exploring the unknown, the meaning of the name, and I LOVE whales so it seemed like the perfect choice.

Humpback whales are also known for their magical songs which travel great distances. Scientists are studying these sounds to better understand their meaning. They are mysterious, melodic, and fascinating to me.

Visualizing Yourself as Humphrey

When things get a bit overwhelming for me, I visualize myself as Humphrey. I close my eyes and imagine moving peacefully with purpose through the unknown depths of the ocean. When I’m ready and need to, I jump high above water, take a deep breath and make a splash back into the ocean. That’s what whales do.

Now it’s your turn.
